hey everyone! there’s a brand new hip hop group from the PHILIPPINES i’d like to introduce you to: The Vibe Team!  i had the pleasure of getting to know these very hard working and talented individuals while i was teaching in Manila. this is only a taste of what they’re capable of.  

 During my visit, i had a hard time adjusting to the lifestyle because although life in LA has been pretty hard, the majority of the Philippines is going through a lot worse than most of us can imagine. We think we know, but we DON’T.  As a Filipino-American, I thought I KNEW, but I didn’t!  I was completely culture shocked to see children and families homeless on the street, graffiti and trash nearly everywhere, and people—even kids begging for money from anyone, everyday!  What inspired me about this group was their humility, generosity, devotion to the Lord, and dedication to dance amidst their busy schedules or rough living conditions. they have hearts the size of the world and are some of the most selfless people i’ve ever met in a country suffering from poverty almost everywhere i looked.  i didn’t realize my home country was this way.  What a wake up call!
